Casks

Vices & Versa also serves cask beers. We recommend tasting the various beers we have on tap and then trying the cask versions. We can serve up to 8 cask ales: four pulled straight from the cask and four poured using our Angram hand pumps. Visit the Beer section of our website, updated daily, for our current cask selection.

What is cask ale?

Cask conditioned ale, or “real ale,” is beer that is poured in the traditional method, either with a hand pump or by tapping the cask directly, supporting it on a stillage and using gravity to help the beer flow. The beer is unfiltered and unpasteurized with minimal carbonation and may have very little head. There is no rule limiting this method of serving beer to ales.
